That\u2019s the spirit behind Progress Learning\u2019s <\/span><b>Ambassador Coffee &amp; Curriculum<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> series, and our November session did not disappoint.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Led by Rheanne Renzenbrink, our Ambassador program lead and a former educator herself, this month\u2019s session focused on \u201cTurning Data into Strategy.\u201d For most educators, data can feel like both a lifesaver and a looming mountain. This session aimed to make it feel more like a map that can actually guide your next steps.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We kicked off with a lighthearted data poll to gauge how ambassadors are feeling about student data these days. The results? Most folks are digging into data daily or a few times a week, starting with assessment performance or standards mastery. And while some admitted data can be overwhelming, nearly everyone agreed it\u2019s essential for making smarter instructional decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Joining our ambassadors were several of our dedicated Success Managers, who brought additional insight and support to the breakout discussions. After the warm-up, everyone broke into small groups to answer the question: \u201cWhat\u2019s one way you\u2019ve used data recently?\u201d The answers were as varied as the educators in the room, everything from student-led proficiency trackers to using Progress Learning\u2019s Focus Area in the Study Plan to drive individualized instruction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One ambassador shared how students in her class take ownership of their data, tracking their own progress and requesting targeted remediation. She explained, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cStudents look like super geniuses looking at the paper and saying, \u2018Hey, I need to do this learning target remediation.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> She described a differentiated classroom where students move at their own pace, choosing what to focus on next based on their data. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThat language they use in the classroom is good to hear.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another ambassador reflected on discovering the Focus Area in the Study Plan. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI absolutely love that because it\u2019s specific standards the students really are lacking in and need more help with.\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Many agreed this feature is a favorite for helping students focus on targeted areas for improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rheanne then spotlighted some of her favorite Progress Learning tools that help turn numbers into next steps:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Class Results by Assignment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Ideal for identifying which standards need reteaching and which students need a little extra support.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Progress by Standard<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Helps track mastery over time and surface class-wide trends.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Individual Student Reports<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: A game-changer for RTI meetings or IEP updates.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Assignment Overview Dashboard<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: A clear, at-a-glance look at student performance with filters for missing work and low scores.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attendees were also encouraged to participate in November\u2019s challenge: share one data-driven strategy at a PLC or team meeting. Because when teachers share what\u2019s working, everyone benefits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before wrapping up, the group took time to share personal wins and moments of joy. From upcoming travel plans to long-awaited family reunions, the stories reminded us that while we\u2019re committed to helping students grow, we also have lives and loved ones who deserve our time and attention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coffee &amp; Curriculum isn\u2019t just about using Progress Learning tools. It\u2019s about building a community of educators who are dedicated to growing their practice and supporting one another.
