What Is Progress Learning?

About Arizona State Testing

ACT Aspire is a statewide test given to 9th grade students in Arizona. It is created by ACT (American College Testing) and is administered through Pearson in Arizona. It is intended to assess student readiness in English, math, reading, writing, and science.

The ACT Aspire is administered on the computer and on paper for students with accommodations. The testing window is from late March to mid April.

The testing window for 11th grade AzSCI is mid-March to mid-April.

Arizona requires grade 9 students to complete the ACT Aspire exam, which tests standard education in English (ELA) and Mathematics.

Grade 11 students are required to take the ACT as a standardized test. Grade 11 students are also required to take the AzSCI assessment, testing grade-appropriate science topics such as earth and space science, physical science, and life science.

High school students are also eligible to take national tests including:

  • Advanced Placement
  • General Common Core
  • PSAT
  • SAT

How Do You Prepare for Testing in Arizona?

Identify Problem Areas

Regular assessments of standards-aligned material can help students make up knowledge gaps ahead of AASA testing.

Employ Targeted Intervention

Create individual study and practice testing in students’ weak areas.

Practice Testing

Help students get more comfortable sitting for testing windows and answering questions online. Progress Learning can help by providing standards aligned practice to help students prepare for testing.
